Hello Friends, Family, Supporters, Random blog stalkers, and Fellow WR squaders!

I would like to start off by apologizing for not updating my life in a while. I have had a bad case of writer’s block, and amazingly enough it has been cured—today [Wednesday]… at 3’oclock in the morning.

Good Morning World!

Right now I’m lying in bed listening to summer’s symphonic voices of katydids, crickets, frogs, and rainfall, while also typing this blog. You would think that these relaxing and peaceful sounds would lull me to sleep, but nothing can tame the butterflies waltzing* in my stomach. Currently, I am feeling excited, nervous, tired, giddy, sleepy, blessed, and in awe! Training camp is in a mere 3 days [July 12-19th]!! I think the waltzing of butterflies just turned into an olympic pole vaulting competition, in other words, the excitement I feel is an understatement. If you were to walk into my room right now, you would feel as though you were standing in a REI storehouse. You would see my tent set up with rainfly and all, my camping gear strewn across the floor, and my clothes popping out of my pack like it’s bursting from the seams. Who knew packing could be so time consuming, and right out difficult?! *Sigh* I can’t believe it’s here. I feel like I’m living a dream.

This Friday, my squad mate and I are heading up to Marietta to hang with the rest of our sisters in H squad for some pre camp bonding and fellowship! I can’t wait to meet, greet, and hug both my squad sisters and the rest of H squad (my World Race family). It’s amazing to think back on the journey it took to get to this point, and to look ahead to what the future will hold. I’ve really come a long way! God teaches me something new every day and every step of the way. It’s incredible to realize that I am a different person today than I was 7 months ago—heck I’m a different person today than I was yesterday. God is constantly working in my life—He is molding me to be the daughter he called me to be; he is moulding me to be more like him. Every day is a new day, a new learning experience, and a new wave of choices. To training camp, I say, bring it on! I can’t wait for God to break me, show me love, show me how to love, and learn from His various teachings in this coming week!

Everything right now is so tangible.

So much has happened over this 7 month period.

Let me update you on the highlights:

  1. Our squad is now known as H squad, and our color is RED
  2. I’m almost fully funded for World Race—I only need $187.35!!
  3. I only have 3 shots left to get: Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies, & Hep A
  4. I get to meet my new family in less than 3 days!! #excited
  5. I leave in less than 3 months—September!!

Wow! I couldn’t have made it this far without God and all of YOU!

Thank you for all your support!
