Here are 11 little things I loved about Nepal:

1. The way the mountains look at sunset! When the sun sets in Nepal, the clouds typically cover the peaks just enough for the suns rays to look like radiant beams of light trying to poke their way through, and brilliant colors of gold and pink follow. It is beyond beautiful!

2. The smell and taste of fresh baked banana bread that is located just seconds away from the front door

3. Cramming as many people as you can in a small bus is hilarious (In my opinion)

4. Not too far away, there is a cheap restaurant that sells the best chicken chowmein (in my opinion) for a decent price, and it is delicious!

5. It’s always fun to make new friends the business and restaurant owners and waitstaff! They are so friendly, and they typically had great stories and advice to share.

6. It was “All Squad Month” and “Debrief”! What’s not to love about both of those?! I became closer with my other squad mates and we relaxed a bit!

7. I loved the ministry we did! My group painted the interior and exterior of a house, loved on all sorts of people, learned how to color prophetically, had amad (alone time with God) every day in order to grow in our relationship with Him.

8. Warm showers!! You heard that right! By the middle of the month, they brought us a new propane tank, so that we could take hot showers. It was incredible! You try taking cold showers for 1 month, and then treat yourself to a hot shower. It is the best gift ever!

9. Shebat Shalom! Every Friday night, we joined together and had “Shebat Shalom,” in other words, a potluck dinner, where the families and teams (that are a part of ministry) bring a covered dish to share with everyone! Then the rest of the evening is filled with relaxation, fellowship, and fun!

10. Freshly ground coffee! You can find it anywhere in Kathmandu. Just ask the locals or do your own research! My teammates, Whitney & Tera, could always find the best places!

11. I loved our Ministry Contacts for Nepal!

  • Rev. Brian & Ruth Williams
  • Rev. Dilip & his wife, Roshni

There are many other names, but I won’t list them here due to safety precautions, but please keep

*Tami Asia ministry and all the families involved in your prayers!

  • Tami Asia is an organization that people lovingly call ‘Agape’.
  • TAMI stands for: The Agape Mission International.
  • Tami means “Helping People See” in Japanese.
  • Our ministry is to see other ministries succeed.
We want to be the wind beneath other ministries wings.
We want to be permission-givers, platform providers releasing
the least promoted ministers and ministries and providing opportunities
    for them where none exist.”

  1. Love your post! Sounds like you were pretty busy for a month of debrief. Also sounds like you are making some great friends. Hope you continue to love what you are doing it. I can see your growth in the Lord. He is so awesome and so near. We just have to call Him. Can’t believe you actually worked in a rice field. I have heard that is some back-breaking work. What experiences you will have to share for the rest of your life. Looks like it is still pretty warm where you are. We are supposedly having a polar vortex hit the area this weekend. We had one two weeks ago and Lexington got 2 inches of the white stuff. Set a record for the earliest snowfall in SC!

  2. Love hearing of all your experiences! Your loving and sharing is really special. Looking forward to hearing even more of your experiences when you get home. Stay safe.
    Love and hugs, Marie

  3. Thank you for filling in some of the blanks during the last month! Love all the variety and growth. Love you!
